ENGAGING YOUNG CITIZENS: Integrating project-based learning and civic engagement into English language learning

40 English teachers from across Malaysia gathered virtually to explore innovative strategies for integrating project-based learning (PBL) and civic engagement into English language education. This hands-on workshop which was facilitated by Auzellea Kristin Mozihim, a secondary school teacher from Sabah, lasted for two and a half hours and provided educators with valuable insights and practical knowledge.

During the workshop, participants learned about the fundamental components of project-based learning, thoroughly understanding its principles and how to apply them effectively in their classrooms. The session then introduced the seven stages of PBL, aligning with the essential design elements necessary for successful project-based learning. This structured approach ensures that students improve their language skills and enhance their critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

We thank all the participants for their enthusiasm during the workshop!
