On 30 September 2026, a presentation entitled “Beyond the Classroom: Writing to Empower Pedagogical Practice Across Diverse Education Practitioners” was delivered at Perpustakaan Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) during Persidangan Pustakawan Borneo 2026.
Presented by HIVE’s vice president, Josephine Lai Mui Kyun, the presentation introduced HIVE Educators as a platform that promotes practitioner writing and professional knowledge sharing among educators. It highlighted how teachers, lecturers, special education practitioners and other education professionals can document their experiences, reflect on their practices and share practical knowledge with the wider education community.
The study analysed 178 practitioner articles written by 93 unique authors. The articles covered diverse themes, including pedagogy and classroom practice, student wellbeing, language and literacy, professional development, digital learning and AI, STEM, inclusive education and sustainability.
The presentation demonstrated the importance of practitioner writing in empowering professional voices and encouraging collaborative knowledge exchange. It was a meaningful opportunity to share educational practices and connect education with library and knowledge-sharing communities.
